Heat Treating
AJAX possesses one of the largest in-house heat treat facilities in the Southeastern United States utilizing six 10ft x 10ft tip-up gas-fired furnaces, each with a capacity for 20,000 pounds and operating 24/7 to provide quick delivery of heat-treated rings. Typical heat treat cycles include annealing, normalizing, and quench & temper in water or polymer quenchants. Brinell hardness-checks are performed on each furnace batch, and complete heat treat certifications are provided with every shipment from our Metallurgy & Quality Department. Technical consultation is available from a degreed metallurgist.
